Experimental Insight into the Containment of Plastic Waste in Cement-Stabilised Soil as a Road Pavement Layer Material

Plastic waste (PW) constitutes a nuisance to our environment despite several efforts reduce, reuse and recycle it. This study experimentally explores the possibility of storing plastic within cement-stabilised soil that can be used as road pavement layer material without adversely affecting geotechnical characteristics stabilised soil. The is an A-2-6 soil, according classification by American Association State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO). Compaction characteristics, California bearing ratio (CBR) unconfined compressive strength (UCS) with 10% cement were determined for 0, 2, 5, 10 15% addition PW. cementing particles, which played vital role in enhancing its on cement, may have been activated pozzolanic reaction between particles. However, PW this mix led decrease parameters at all variations. 2% yielded higher when compared other ratios suitable use construction. As sustainable strategy management developing nations, usage recommended.
